I have loved sunglasses since I was a kid. Unfortunately, the stereotype of a blind person is one of wearing dark unfashionable sunglasses. Anyone who knows me knows I hate falling into stereotypes. Especially any stereotypes involving me being blind. As a result, since my eyes look like everyone else’s, I rarely wear sunglasses in public. However, when I do wear my sunglasses as a fashion statement it is and has always been Oakley! Oakley’s have spoken to me since my childhood. I love their edgy colors, athletic designs and fits, and the whole company ethos of constantly pushing the Boundries of fashion and athletic performance. The brand represents everything I stand for! Individual expression, best in class performance, technical superiority, quality, and striking bold confidence. Oakley is all about breaking stereotypes and blazing your own path and writing the story of your life rather than having it written for you. This is one of the major reasons why I became a model. I want to break stereotypes of beauty and possibilities. I want to be the author of my amazing life rather than the reader of someone else’s. I want to inspire others who believe having a disability means having to accept a less than amazing life full of adventure, fun, competition, excitement, and amazing friends!
